Koverse Creates Board of Advisors to Accelerate Market Opportunity and Broader Adoption of its Big Data Platform

Koverse, Inc. today announced it has formed the Koverse Board of Advisors to further expand the market opportunity and customer adoption of its breakthrough big data platform. Initial members of the Board of Advisors include Frank Fanzilli, Nels Marin and Rob Adams, who collectively have deep and broad experience – from financial services to enterprise software to data management to venture capital. They will play a critical role in helping Koverse extend the value it delivers to companies in markets ranging from government and the public sector to financial services, empowering organizations to bring critical big data projects into production with unprecedented speed.

The formation of the Board of Advisors comes at an important time in Koverse’s history. The company just launched in June Koverse 2.0, the only unified solution for extracting maximum value from organizations’ investments in Hadoop by bringing big data to production in a fraction of the time compared to existing approaches.

Rob Adams has more than twenty years of experience as a technology architect and strategist combined with an enviable track record of global venture investing. He spent 18 years at Cisco Systems, driving strategic alliances and corporate development, and serves on the board of a number of technology companies. This experience will be invaluable as Koverse continues to emerge as an innovation leader in big data.

Nels Marin is a consultant at Marin Associates, and previously worked in a consulting role for Citi and Barclays Capital. Prior to that, he was with Credit Suisse for 17 years in a variety of leadership positions, including Managing Director Global Head of Infrastructure. Rob, Nels and Frank’s experience in financial services will help Koverse expand its customer base in this important vertical market that is among the most aggressive in big data deployments.

Frank Fanzilli was at Credit Suisse for 17 years, ultimately serving as Managing Director and Global CIO. He has considerable experience advising companies on strategy, operations, technology, investment and M&A. He was previously a board member at Avaya and PeopleSoft and currently serves on the Board of Directors of CommVault and Calypso Technology.

“Koverse has all of the characteristics of a successful technology company: an excellent leadership team with unparalleled experience with large scale big data systems, and a great product that uniquely addresses a critical problem in the big data market,” said Fanzilli. “I am excited to work with the Koverse team to help make their solution a logical choice for any company that wants to extract value from their big data initiatives.”

“Frank, Nels and Rob have spearheaded some of the most important technology initiatives at industry-leading companies over the last two decades. We are honored that they are bringing their expertise to Koverse,” said Jon Matsuo, Koverse President and CEO. “Koverse is delivering tremendous value to prominent financial services and government organizations, empowering them to get maximum value from their big data projects. Our Board of Advisors will play an instrumental role in helping us extend our early momentum, gain exposure to senior IT leaders across a wide range of industries and build sustainable market leadership.”

In addition to the Koverse Board of Advisors, Koverse also formalized its Board of Directors, which includes Sterling Wilson, the President and CEO of Shiftboard, Janis Machala, Founder and Managing Partner of Paladin Partners and Michael Rogers, Vice President, Corporate Venture Capital at Credit Suisse.
