Sales Systems Engineer

Koverse is looking for a dynamic, seasoned Sales Systems Engineer who will be part of a world-class team working to help customers realize the promise of big data. This role, preferably (but not required) based in the Washington, D.C.-Baltimore metro region, Seattle or Denver metro regions, will work to promote and sell our highly advanced core software.

As a Sales Systems Engineer you will:

  • Manage and prioritize multiple sales requests at the same time
  • Be skilled in information gathering and technical discovery techniques
  • Provide presales support to the sales team through highly technical presentations, demonstrations, and sales engagements for our customer base
  • Consult with customers and internal teams on solution planning/design, and all technical elements of the sales cycle
  • Provide ongoing technical support and technical consultation to customers and build long term relationships securing software and service sales
  • Collaborate and interact with customers and internal teams on assigned accounts and provide a high level of technical pre- and post-sales support
  • Support and educate the Koverse customer base with Koverse implementations, technical trainings, solution integrations, and escalation needs
  • Provide/deliver technical/consultative training
  • Speak with customers early on in the sales process in order to assess their technical and business needs and requirements
  • Provide presales technical support for the Koverse sales team and help them communicate the value of our products and services
  • Engage in deep, technical discussions with our prospects around solution fit and value delivery
  • Conduct Koverse product demonstrations and help organizations understand how to unlock the value of Koverse Data Platform (KDP)
  • Support Koverse’s partners to ensure they have the tools, enablement and experience to deliver great solutions for our customers
  • Contribute to Koverse’s sales and delivery frameworks
  • Raise awareness in assigned accounts about the Koverse solution
  • Be willing to learn new technology and ask questions when you need help
We are looking for the following technical experience:
  • Relevant technical and domain experience in targeted industries
  • Working experience with Docker and GitHub
  • Programming background in Java, Scala, Node, or Python
  • Knowledge of Machine Learning concepts and technology
  • Familiarity with distributed systems like Hadoop, HBase/Accumulo, or Kafka
  • A good understanding of indexing and search techniques
  • A good understanding of relational database concepts
  • Experience working with Cloud technologies such as Azure, AWS, or GCP
  • Experience working with Linux to install and maintain a distributed computing infrastructure
  • An understanding of writing parallelized algorithms for distributed systems using Spark and other technologies
  • Experience automating production deployments
  • Strong system security background
  • Undertake technical assessments with our customers to establish that Koverse can meet their security and technical requirements
  • Provide technical input for demos, RFI and RFP responses, as well as all proposals, including the effort estimate, project team, timeline, implementation methodology and solution components
  • Develop/Present technical demos, presentations, and responses to follow-up, detailed technical questions to support new customer acquisition efforts. Facilitate discovery and scoping sessions with customers, anticipating customer needs and identifying appropriate solution alternatives
  • Provide technical support in sales calls and assist the sales team with understanding customer requirements, highlighting how we can best address the customer’s needs
  • Take joint ownership of the assigned accounts/opportunities with the sales team on technical issues and resolution
  • Understand the customer’s business process and potential constraints (budget, timeline, expertise, etc.) to define optimal and reasonable project scope and level-of-effort estimates to fulfill implementation
  • Coordinate with internal teams, and others, as needed, for specific technical design requirements
  • Provide recommendations on third-party applications
  • Conduct technical knowledge transfer to the delivery team during the sales-to-delivery hand-off
  • Agility in developing technical skills and expertise in Koverse’s area of expertise, software, services, and implementation methodology
In addition, you should have the following:
  • Minimum 5+ years of successful Enterprise SaaS presales or sales consultative professional experience
  • Self-starter who can work as part of a partly-virtual team and remain motivated in a dynamic, active and demanding work environment with an outcomes-based focus
  • A degree in Business, Technology, or related field is preferred
  • Strong experience in preparing and executing customer-facing presentations and product demonstrations
  • Experience in preparation and delivery of client RFIs and RFPs
  • Experience delivering Enterprise SaaS solutions
  • Experience coordinating project activities and resources
  • Display extremely strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills. You should be very comfortable interacting with technical and business-oriented people
  • A passion for next generation technologies
  • Ability to easily connect with people on the phone, build trust, learn challenges through quality questions and active listening
  • Flexibility to travel as required (approximately 25-50% of time)
  • This position will have to be clearable – meaning you should be able to and are willing to obtain a government clearance if you do not already have a government clearance
